Tough Times Vs Tough People
                  By Dr.Handel Leslie
The reality of life is that every person faces challenges. Sometimes the tendency to idolize those that are considered icons in our society is a sure fallacy.

The news media often reveals that these are real people with real problems. One of the greatest travesties of human existence is that he often looks for solutions in his outer world before seriously taking an inner reflection of himself. Those who keep an outer focus soon become victims of circumstances.

When a person becomes victimized by circumstance, then discouragement and even depression creeps in. With a victim mentality, we are forced to surrender to our circumstances and even blame it on fate.

However there are those with a different mindset. The Bible describes them as iron-pillar people,Today I have made you a fortified city, and an iron pillar….” Jeremiah 1:18. Iron-Pillar people are those who refuse to surrender to tough times.

They have resilience, they are not cowards, they are filled with persistence and so they never compromise their future for their presence. Your attitude can be one of an Iron-Pillar person. Take charge of where you are. Refuse to take on the problems of the whole world.

Take control of your circumstance. Begin to declare, “My tough times are making me stronger; making me tougher; giving me resilience; lifting me to higher heights; and making a better person ours of me.”
